Each of MechanaHands' mechanics has years of experience in Calgary's most established and reputable bike shops, along with a lifetime love affair with bikes. They are truly masters of their craft.

While we worked as mechanics at retail bike stores the thing that we found with the biggest impact on the quality of our work was the shop's dedicated focus on selling bikes. As many as they could. We spent more time trying to peddle bikes than fixing bikes. We're mechanics, not salesmen. We just want you and your bike to get along, and be happy together.

"At the age of thirteen I began my journey as a bike mechanic by working with some of Canada’s best mechanics, with successfully family owned bike shops, and professional cycling shops. In the autumn of 2008 I took it upon myself to make true my dream of having a bicycle service center.

Each bike will be inspected and given a check list with a description of the services that we recommend to ensure that your bike leaves MechanaHands properly serviced and functioning to your highest expectations.

When our work is finished, the mechanic who serviced your bicycle will provide to you a list of all the work and or parts that were required for us to meet your expectations. MechanaHands also provides to our valued customers reference notes and the mechanic’s signature which ensures that no bike leaves our shop until it is properly inspected and test ridden.

Rik

Rik has been riding his whole life. He raced cross country for a few years, coming in second in the provincials in his second year. Turnip, as some people call him, also spent a number of years as a bike messenger here in Calgary, along with years at one of Calgary's flagship bikeshops as a bike builder and master mechanic, and instructor.
